The Science Behind Sex Butter

In the organic field of cosmetics, many product manufacturers make all sorts of false claims:  BG Organics, LLC (the manufacture of Sex Butter) is a company that backs up our product with the scientific data that is surfacing daily in alternative health care. We use only safe and healing oils. Here is what the research shows about the main oils used in Sex Butter.

Cocoa Butter

  • With vitamin E and antioxidants Cocoa Butter has long been used for skin aliments from burns and rashes to stretch marks and wrinkles. [7]
  • There is some evidence that cocoa mass polyphenol (CMP) also found in chocolate can hinder the growth of cancer cells. [7]
  • It is safe to eat and use internally and topically. [7]

Coconut Oil

  • Coconut oil has been proven to be effective at healing dry flaky skin (Xerosis).  There is also some evidence that it has an anti-septic quality. [1]
  • Coconut oil has been proven to reduce the presence of bacteria on the skin in eczema. [2]
  • Coconut oil is also proving to be an antimicrobial and anti-fungal oil. [3], [4]
  • Coconut oil is currently being researched for its antiviral properties and a potential role in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. [5]
  • Coconut oil is edible: it tastes of coconut and is safe for use internally and topically. [5]

Grape Seed

  • Grape seed contains antioxidants that protect the skin. [10]
  • The proanthocyanidin antioxidants in grape seed are 20 times more powerful than antioxidants in vitamin E and 50 times more powerful than those in vitamin C. [10]
  • Grape seed promotes elasticity, health, flexibility, and more youthful looking skin. [10]
  • Grape seed bonds with collagen, protects the skin from free radicals, improves circulation in body tissues.  [10]
  • It is edible and safe for use internally and topically. [10]

Jojoba Oil

  • Jojoba oil is a native plant to the Southwestern United States, Native Americans have been using the oil for skin and hair for hundreds of years. [8]
  • The chemical composition of jojoba oil is much like the oils that human skin naturally produces.
  • Jojoba oil is a natural pesticide for plants. [8]
  • Jojoba oil is showing promising results in use for psoriasis, acne, and other minor skin irritations. [9]
  • It is edible and safe for use internally and topically. [8]

Shea Butter

  • Shea butter contains compounds that are proving to have anti-tumor effects and a powerful topical anti-inflammatory. [6]
  • Shea butter is proclaimed in many cultures as a medicinal skin treatment for a range of skin conditions including wrinkles, dry skin, scars, stretch marks, rashes and burns. [6]
  • It is also safe to eat and use internally and topically. [6]
